Illumination festival to light up Christmas in #Bangkok

This festive season, Bangkok will be brighter than it already is and has ever been. Thailand’s first international festival of light, sound, and visual arts, “Bangkok Illumination”, will light up the commercial Em District area and Benjasiri park for an entire month.

The festival is part of an effort to attract domestic and international visitors during the Christmas and New Year holidays, and the government and private sectors have collaborated with both Thai and foreign artists to brighten up Bangkok.
To encourage youngsters to pursue creativity, spaces will be allocated to academic students to allow them to develop and exhibit artworks. All artists are invited to propose ideas for exhibits, and 12 will be displayed throughout the entire festival. The submission deadline is Oct. 25 and the winners will be announced on Dec. 1.
The festival will start on Dec.1 to Jan.3. It is also set to be an annual festival.
So, the first ever festival of light begs the question, how many artists does it take to change a light bulb?
